Steps to Apply for West Bengal Police Clearance Certificate Online

1.  Visit the Official PCC Website: 
     Open your web browser and go to the official West Bengal PCC website (https://pcc.wb.gov.in).

2.  Register/Login: 
     If you are a new user, click on the "Register" option.
     Fill in the required details such as your name, email ID, mobile number, and create a password.
     Verify your registration through the OTP sent to your mobile number or email.
     If you are an existing user, log in with your registered email ID and password.

3.  Navigate to the PCC Application Form: 
     After logging in, you will be directed to the dashboard.
     Click on the "Apply for PCC" option.
     You need to share OTP and Aadhaar number also.

4.  Fill in the Application Form: 
Enter your personal information including name, date of birth, gender, and contact details.
     Provide your current and previous addresses.
     State the purpose for which the PCC is required.
     Enter any additional information as requested in the form.

5.  Upload Required Documents: 
     Attach scanned copies of necessary documents such as:
       Proof of identity (Aadhaar card, passport, voter ID, etc.)
       Proof of address (utility bills, rental agreement, etc.)
       Passport size photograph

6.  Review and Submit the Application:

     Log in to the website and click on the "Track Application" option.

      Log in to the PCC website and download your Police Clearance Certificate.

How Long Will It Take to Get a PCC?

The processing time for a Police Clearance Certificate can vary. Typically, it used to take anywhere from 2 to 4 weeks, depending on the verification process and workload of the police department. Now the process is to be completed within 72 hrs. 

After the application and fee are processed, the details are electronically sent to the appropriate police station. Officers will then perform a physical verification at the applicant's address and conduct a thorough background check.

Once the verification is complete, the applicant will receive a digitally signed Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) via email. Additionally, an SMS will be sent to confirm whether the certificate has been issued or rejected.
