How to Pay Nagpur Property Tax Online?
- Visit the official website of Nagpur Municipal Corporation here - https://www.nmcnagpur.gov.in
- Click on "Pay your Property Tax" link under Important Links at the top of the screen
- A new window opens
- Enter your Index Number and click on Search to find your NMC property tax details. Index number is mentioned on the property tax receipt. You can find it on the previous years payment receipts.
- Drop down Choose tab
- Click on Pay Tax to pay NMC Nagpur property tax
- Fill up the amount to Pay
- Drop down Pay through
- Select Payment gateway. Now you can pay Nagpur property tax online with mutiple Payment gateways. The payment can be made via Debit/Credit card or netbanking.
- A payment receipt becomes automatically generated as soon as you pay the property tax bill. The Nagpur property tax payment receipt can be downloaded on your PC or mobile and you can then take a printout for your use.
For the purpose of levying property tax, NMC calculates the area of the property in square meters. 10% is deducted from the total super built-up area to calculate the Annual Letting Value (ALV) of the property. In 2015-16, around 4% property owners had paid the tax online. In 2017-18, around 9.56% Nagpurians paid propert tax online. In 2018-19, the percentage of people Nagpur property tax online went up to 10.96%. In April-May 2020 around 9250 property owners paid Rs.4.03 Crore as tax online. The highest number of people who paid NMC property tax online were from Laxmi Nagar zone and then Hanuman Nagar.
To provide relief to consumers during this corona crisis, municipal commissioner Radhakrishnan B announced Abhay Yojana 2020.Citizens will get 80% waiver on interest if they pay property tax dues till 2020-21 between December 15, 2020 to January 14, 2021. The waiver will be reduced to 50% if paid between January 15 and Feburary 14.
