What are Fastag Charges of your Bank - Know Here

Drivers may pay tolls electronically while driving using the FASTag system, eliminating the need to stop and exchange money. Make sure your FASTag account has enough money and recharge it as needed for a seamless toll payment experience.

The FASTag comes with a few fees, including a security deposit, re-issuance cost, and one-time issuance fee.

What fees apply to FASTag?

The HDFC Bank website states that there are no fees associated with FASTag activation. Nonetheless, a user has to be informed of three different FASTag charges:

1. Tag Joining Fee: A one-time fee assessed only at the initial FASTag User registration. To begin and activate the Tag for your car, there will be a one-time payment.

2. Security Deposit - A small sum is deducted as a security deposit, which is entirely refundable provided there are no outstanding balances at account closure. The sum varies based on the class of your car. Banks may utilize the security deposit to settle any unpaid toll fees if there are not enough cash in your Tag account.

3. Threshold Amount: The minimum recharge amount that is in effect at the moment of tag activation is all that constitutes the threshold amount. As soon as your tag is activated, this whole amount will be accessible on your Tag account to cover any toll costs. The vehicle class determines the threshold amount.

According to their websites as of February 24, 2024, the following is a list of the leading FASTag issuers along with the FASTag costs. For automobiles, jeeps, and other vehicles in a comparable class, the security deposit amount is taken into account.
