To minimize vehicular traffic at toll plazas, the Government of India (GOI) has required that all toll plazas across India accept electronic toll payments by December 1, 2019. With this rule, all cars passing through toll plazas must pay toll costs via FASTag.

FASTag is a simple, reloadable tag that allows you to travel through the toll plaza without stopping for payment. FASTag is linked to a prepaid account from which the appropriate toll is deducted. The tag uses Radio-frequency Identification (RFID) technology and is installed on the vehicle's windscreen after the tag account is activated.

FASTag is the ideal choice for a hassle-free journey on national roads. FASTag is now active at 407 toll plazas along national and state roadways. More toll plazas will be added to the FASTag program in the future.

How can I apply for FASTag online through a bank?

  • Visit the official website of banks like as SBI, ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, and HDFC Bank, who are authorized to offer FASTags.
  • Search for and click the 'Get FASTag' / 'Apply for FASTag' link on the website's homepage.
  • Enter your cellphone number. An OTP will be sent to the cellphone number you supplied. Enter the OTP and click submit.
  • Next, provide your personal information (name, email address, etc.) as well as car information (type, registration number, etc.). Upload papers (such as a scanned copy of the car registration certificate).
  • Before submitting the application, double-check all of the information you entered.
  • After submitting the application form online, you will be forwarded to the online payment portal for fee submission.
  • Save a copy of both the FASTag and payment receipts. You may also take a printout of this for future reference.
