  • Fill out the online form with your debit card information, such as the debit card number, CVV code, expiration date, and so on.
  • Provide the grid number found on the back of the debit card.
  • Select 'Generate OTP'.
  • A four-digit OTP would be issued to your registered mobile number, which was supplied when you opened the savings account.
  • Enter the OTP to validate your information.
  • You would then be able to generate a new PIN for your debit card.


The screen will display the confirmation message when you generate the PIN. You will also receive an update on your cellphone number and email address regarding the generation of the PIN.

If you wish to modify an existing PIN, follow the same steps as above.

Creating the PIN via SMS

To utilize the SMS service, you must enter your registered cellphone number. To alter or generate an ATM PIN, send an SMS to India Post.

You may also visit an India Post ATM to generate or alter the ATM of your debit card. Insert your debit card into the card reader and follow the procedures below to alter or generate a new PIN -
Select the 'PIN Generation' option.
Enter your 11-digit post office savings bank account number twice, then click the 'Confirm' button.
Enter your registered mobile number and press the 'Confirm' button.s
You will get notification that the Green PIN will be issued to the registered cellphone number shortly.
The Green PIN will be sent to your cell phone.
If you alter an existing PIN, instead of the Green PIN, you will receive an OTP on your cell phone. This OTP is only good for two days.
Insert your card at the ATM again during the following two days.
Click on 'Banking,' then 'PIN Change.'
Enter the OTP and replace the current PIN.
