A journey to Goddess Vaishno Devi's sacred shrine is regarded as one of the holiest pilgrimages of all time. The Goddess lives in a sacred cave in the folds of Trikuta, a three-peaked mountain. Every year, millions of pilgrims visit the sacred cave. In reality, the number of believers who visit the sacred place each year surpasses one crore. Below we have given steps for how to book helicopter for Vaishno Devi.

How to Book a Helicopter Ticket for the Vaishno Devi Pilgrimage

  • The helicopter service begins at Katra in the foothills and ends in Sanjhichatt. This visit to the hallowed shrine, surrounded by clouds, marks the start of a beautiful heli-hop.
  • Register on the official website of Maa Vaishno Devi. Register by selecting the 'New User Registration' button and filling out all of the relevant information.
  • After successfully registering, choose a date, route, flight, and number of passengers. Check the availability and begin entering passenger information.
Note: One individual can only book a maximum of five helicopter tickets per month using one credit or debit card.
  • Enter the necessary passenger information with care. It is not possible to modify the details once they have been submitted.
  • Make your payment with a credit card or a debit card.
  • Take a print of the reservation slip and make a note of the transaction ID for future reference.

What to do in case of failed transaction?

If a transaction fails, you can attempt with a fresh reservation. If the payment has been deducted, write an email to 'online@maavaishnodevi.org' to request a refund. Refund requests must be submitted within 30 days of travel or no refund will be provided.

Procedure for obtaining a helicopter ticket at the Current Heli-Ticket Counter:


1. A Yatra Registration Slip is required to purchase a helicopter ticket at the Current Heli-ticket Counter.

2. ID evidence for all family members (who want to use the heli ticket) will be required for the present booking.

3. Air/train/bus/taxi travel documentation, as well as train/bus tickets or other verification, are necessary.

4. Yatri's should be wary of touts/travel brokers who demand payment for helicopter tickets. The cost of a single ticket is Rs 1,045/- per person.

5. The appropriate tax rates will be levied on the date of travel at the respective site in Katra/Sanjichhat.
