Bhasm Aarti booking is no longer free; there is a nominal fee of Rs.200 (per person) payable online. There is a fee of Rs.100 from the counter for offline ticket booking.

Phones are prohibited. Phones are not permitted within the Mahakal Temple. The temple committee has offered a facilities locker for devotees to deposit their phones upon entering the sanctuary.

Dress Code at the Mahakal Temple

There is no specific dress requirement given, however it is suggested that for Jal Abhishek wear appropriate clothing. For darshan, males must wear a Dhoti and kurta and ladies must wear a saree, half saree, kurta, or dress.

Men must wear Dhoti and Kurta (Jal Abhishek).

Women are required to wear a Saree (Jal Abhishek).
