Pushkar Camel Fair, Kartik Mela, Kartik ka Mela, or Pushkar ka Mela is an annual multi-day animal fair and cultural fiesta held in the town of Pushkar near Ajmer city in Ajmer district in (Rajasthan, India).

The fair begins in the Hindu calendar month of Kartik and finishes on Kartik Purnima, which usually falls between late October and early November in the Gregorian calendar. During the year 1988, about one million people visited Pushkar. The Pushkar fair alone draws nearly 200,000 people.

Rajasthan to Host Iconic 8-Day Pushkar Fair 2023 - Highlights

The cattle fair used to be the centerpiece of the fair every year. Farmers from all around the state come to exchange animals such as cattle, camels, and horses at this fair. This is also a popular time for pilgrims to visit the sacred Pushkar Lake. Pilgrims go from all across the country to Pushkar for this.

This year, the state tourism agency has welcomed visitors from all over the world to the Pushkar Chalo Abhiyan event. Several cultural activities and contests will be held at the Pushkar fair. The camel race is also one of the Pushkar festival's main attractions in 2023.

Pushkar Camel Fair 2023 Dates 

The Pushkar Cattle Fair timetable has been altered in the aftermath of the state's Assembly elections on November 25.

The Pushkar Fair will now take place from November 14 to November 20.

It was originally scheduled to begin on November 14 and run until November 29.

The Animal Husbandry Department has also announced a potential schedule of events for the forthcoming fair.

According to the Department's Joint Director, Naveen Parihar, the Fair Advisory Committee met on October 13 under the chairmanship of the District Collector and agreed to organize the fair from November 14 to 20.

This was done in preparation for the Assembly elections, so that the voting percentage would not be influenced, he explained.

However, there will be no cultural activities at the expo this year.
