HDFC Bank has started an initiative called 'Cardless Cash' which means customers can now withdraw money from ATMs without an ATM or a debit card. There is no need for a customer to carry an ATM card with them all the time and this also saves the risk of losing the card.

As per HDFC Bank, if a customer needs to withdraw cash without an ATM card, they need to follow a three step process. 

How HDFC Bank Cardless Cash Withdrawal Works?

Below we have given the steps that are required for HDFC Bank Cardless Cash Withdrawal:

Steps to withdrawing cash without an ATM card:

  • Add a Beneficiary: A beneficiary must be registered via Net Banking. Registration is required once per beneficiary. To register a beneficiary via Net Banking, a customer can do this:
  1. Visit Net Banking url of HDFC Bank and select the 'Funds Transfer tab'.
  2. Click on Request > Add a Beneficiary > Cardless Cash Withdrawal.
  3. Enter the required details and tap on 'Confirm'. Enter the OTP received for verification.
  4. Around 30 minutes time is needed for the beneficiary details to be reflected in your account.
  • Send money to the beneficiary:
  1. Login to HDFC Bank Net Banking, tap on 'Funds Transfer' and select the 'Cardless Cash Withdrawal'.
  2. Choose the 'Debit Bank Account' and select a beneficiary from the list of registered beneficiaries.
  3. Click on continue and confirm, after checking the beneficiary details and entering the amount.
  4. Enter OTP for verification. Beneficiary will receive an SMS containing the OTP, an order ID and the amount.
  • Withdrawal money from HDFC Bank ATM: Beneficiaries can visit any HDFC Bank ATM and follow the below mentioned steps:
  • Select the Cardless Cash option from the menu that is displayed on the IDLE loop screen.
  • Choose your language option. Share your registered mobile numbers.
  • Enter an OTP for verification.
  • Enter order ID and the amount you need to withdraw.
  • Cash will come out from the ATM machine after the details are successfully validated. So, this is how HDFC Bank Cardless Cash Withdrawal works.

Please note that HDFC Bank Cardless cash withdrawal requests are only valid for 24 hours from the time of the creation of the request.

How much cash can be withdrawn through 'HDFC Bank Cardless Cash' facility?
'Cardless Cash' withdrawal requests can be initiated for a minimum amount of Rs 100 and up to a maximum amount of Rs 10,000 per day or Rs 25,000 per month.
