How to download Mera Ration App, Register and use it for Subsidised Foodgrains

Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food And Public Distribution, Government of India has launched a new mobile application dedicated to ration system called "Mera Ration" with the new ‘One Nation-One Ration Card’ system. Around 1.5-1.6 Crore portability transactions are being recorded under ONORC every month. The new ration mobile app "mera ration", developed by National Informatics Centre (NIC) will be a boon to people who move to new places for livelihoods. As migrant labourers keep moving for work, they need a ration card that work across all states.

Offering convenience to the citizens via One Nation One Ration Card system, the government covers 69 crore National Food Security Act (NFSA) beneficiaries which is around 86% NFSA population in India. The NFSA beneficiaries are used by the government to provide more than 81 crore people with ‘highly subsidised foodgrains’ through the public distribution system (PDS). Beneficiaries can also check food grain entitlement, recent transactions & status of Aadhaar seeding etc.

In order to better manage rationing system Mera Ration app will not only help the government but citizens as well. Presently, the Mera ration app download is available only on Android.

What is the benefit of Mera Ration app?

Mera Ration app has been introduced for the benefit of ration cardholders across India. As a user of Mera ration app, you can easily find the nearest fair price shop with just a tap. The users can check details of their entitlement and the recent transactions made. Under this scheme, beneficiaries will continue to get Rice, Wheat and Coarse Grain at the rate of Rs. 3, Rs. 2 and Rs. 1 per Kg respectively in other States as well. Right now, the app interface is available in Hindi and English languages but Govt. will soon add 14 other Indian languages. 

Sudhanshu Pandey, Secretary, Department of Food & Public Distribution said, “The new mobile app aims to facilitate the ONORC-related services among beneficiaries of the NFSA, particularly migrant beneficiaries, fair price shop (FPS) or ration shop dealers and other stakeholders.” 

How to download Mera Ration app and use it?

  • Visit Google Play Store on your Android Phone
  • Search for the Mera Ration app using the search box.

  • Then Download and Install the app uploaded by Central Aepds Team. 
  • Open the app and register using your ration card details. 

With Mera Ration mobile App, you can view:

  • Ration Card related details by providing Ration Card Number, District and last four digits of Aadhaar

  • Last 6 months purchase details for grains via Ration Card
  • Nearest Fair Price Shop within 5 Km radius to the geo location of User
  • Check balance of commodity for any respective month by providing Ration card related details
The Mera Ration app has Aadhar-based login means it supports biometric authentication. With 5.4 lakh ration shops in the Country, Govt. of India supplies 5 kg of subsidised foodgrains to each person per month.

The system was initially started in four states in August 2019 and was then rolled out to 32 states and union territories by December 2020. 4 states that are not in this list include Assam, Chhattisgarh, Delhi and West Bengal which are expected to be included over the next few months.
