State Bank of India (SBI) customers who wish to update their mobile number can do it easily online with the State Bank of India's official website. There is no need to visit your SBI branch or be it any other SBI branch to change and update your mobile number. You need your ATM-cum-debit card and your registered mobile number in order to change your mobile number online. With SBI, a person can change and update his/her registered mobile number through the following processhg

How to change SBI Mobile Number?

The following steps tells on how to change SBI mobile number:
  • Visit the official SBI website - https://www.onlinesbi.com/
  • Click on Login button Under Personal Banking at the left of the screen
  • After loggin-in to the official SBI website, click on 'My Accounts and Profile' from the left top navigation and then click on Profile.
  • A new page opens, click on Personal details/Mobile.
  • Then enter Profile password and click on Submit button.
  • Personal details page opens. See at the right bottom of the screen and click on the link "Change Mobile Number-Domestic only(Through OTP/ATM/Contact Centre)".
  • New screen 'Personal Details-Mobile Number Update' will appear.
  • Type your 'new mobile number', then again re-type your mobile number.
  • Click on Submit button.
  • d pop-up message 'Verify and confirm your mobile number xxxxxxxxxx' will be displayed on the screen. Click on 'OK' to proceed.
  • A new screen with the following three different modes for approval of change of mobile number will be displayed;
         a) By OTP on both the Mobile Number
         b) IRATA: Internet Banking Request Approval through ATM
         c) Approval through Contact Centre

How to change SBI Mobile Number through OTP?

a) By OTP on both the mobile number:-

If you have both old and new mobile numbers, then the SBI mobile number change can be approved online using OTP.
  • Click on the option 'By OTP on both the Mobile Number'.
  • Click on the 'Proceed' button.
  • Select the account by clicking the radio button, for which you have the debit card. Click on 'Proceed' button.
  • ATM cards connected with the selected account will be displayed on the next screen. Select the ATM card and click on the 'Proceed' button.
  • State Bank of India's Payment Gateway will be displayed where you need to enter your card details.
  • Enter the card details like card number, valid thru/Expiry Date, Cardholder's Name, PIN, captcha code and Click 'Proceed' button. 
  • A message appears, "Thanks for registering mobile number with us.
  • After your details are successfully verified, the system will send OTP along with the reference number on your old as well as new mobile number.
  • You then need to send SMS from both old as well as new mobile numbers in the following format ACTIVATE <8 digit OTP value> <13 digit reference number> to 567676 within 4 hrs.
  • After successful validation of the OTP value and reference number, the new mobile number entered by you will be copied in INB, CBS and ATM. A successful message in this regard will also be displayed to the customer on his mobile number. On Personal Details - Mobile Number Update page, you can see the status "PROCESSED".

How to change SBI Mobile Number through ATM?

SBI Mobile number change through IRATA: 

If you select Internet Banking Request Approval through ATM (IRATA), you will need to visit any SBI ATM for the process.

How to change SBI  Mobile Number without Visiting Branch?

SBI Mobile number change through Contact Centre: 

Approval through Contact Centre - In this, to complete the updating process, contact center person will call you for verification in 3 days time to update your mobile number.
