Pay Tax, Online Bills with Namma Chennai Smart Card

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami launched the Ru-Pay-powered 'Namma Chennai Smart Card' on February 23, in Chennai, which serves as a multi-purpose card for citizens, providing a one-stop solution for making different kind of payments in the city and across India. ICICI Bank in partnership with the Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC) and Chennai Smart City Limited (CSCL) has launched the Namma Chennai Smart Card. Namma Chennai Smart Card is a Ru-Pay powered co-branded, contactless prepaid card by which you can pay tax and utility bill payments of Greater Chennai Corporation centres. The prepaid card by ICICI Bank help in retail payments within Chennai as well as in retail stores and e-commerce websites across the country.

It's a common payment card platform for Chennai residents for making payments for various services within the city. ‘Namma Chennai Smart Card' helps users to get the following services:

Payments at Greater Chennai Corporation centres: Users can use the Namma card to make payment for the property tax or utility bill payments or services such as cycle sharing, parking charges at the Greater Chennai Corporation centers.
Shop online and at stores: Users can purchase goods from retail stores, pay for movie tickets, dine and shop online on e-commerce websites across India with the Namma Smart Card.
Manage card online: The card is backed by features such as card block/unblock, activation, pin-reset etc. Users can manage and avail these features on the dedicated customer portal - https://smartcity.icicibank.com/customer/customerportal?pagename=namma. Users will also be able to reload the card digitally through the UPI on the customer portal or the iSmart City app.
Avail offers: Users will also get discount offers on the card throughout the year.

Where and How to Get 'Namma Chennai Smart Card':


Users can get the card issued and topped-up at the Greater Chennai Corporation Main office at Ripon Building in Park Town and Greater Chennai Corporation Zone 10 office at Kodambakkam, in Chennai.

Chennai residents can also get the cards at e-seva centres by paying Rs 100 along with photocopies of valid identity proofs. The RuPay Namma Chennai smart cards will be activated in two days.

Recharge Namma.//card up to a limit of Rs 10,000. Service charges are applicable for using the cards in point of sale (POS) devices. A service charge of 0.65 per cent will be applicable for transactions less than Rs 1,000. For transactions between Rs 1,000 to Rs 2,000, charges will be 0.90 per cent. For transactions greater than Rs 2,000, 1.40 per cent service charge will be applicable.
