Goa Electricity OTS Scheme 2020 



The One Time Settlement Scheme 2020 by Electricity Department, Government of Goa, was launched on Monday by Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant, in the presence of Minister for Power Nilesh Cabral. Chief Secretary Parimal Rai, Power Secretary Kunal, Chief Electrical Engineer Rajiv Sawant also graced the occasion.

Goa Electricity OTS Scheme aims to support the consumers in clearing of their long pending dues by paying only the principle amount and the late payment charges will be fully or partly waived off as per the repayment period. The Goa OTS Scheme 2020 supports all consumers whether active, temporarily disconnected, permanently disconnected or revenue recovery cases consumers and as such can avail the benefits of the scheme. There is no limit on the outstanding dues pending for payments for availing the scheme

Currently the electricity department charges consumers a delayed payment charges (DPC) of 2 per cent per month and the accumulated arrears are very high for some of the consumers and many cases are as much as 30 years old. Goa Electricity OTS Scheme provides once in the life time opportunity to all such consumers to discard their pending dues.

Consumers need to first register online on official Goa electricity portal www.goaelectricity.gov.in in order to apply for One Time Settlement Scheme 2020.

Goa Electricity OTS Scheme 2020 is open for period of one month i.e. from December 1 to 31 for registration. A consumer can make payments in one or two instalments for 100 per cent waiver of delayed payment charges and part waiver of 80 per cent, 60 per cent, 40 per cent and 20 per cent of DPC for the installment period of three, four, five and six months respectively.

Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant said that similar scheme like One Time Settlement Scheme 2020 for electricity will be launched for water bill consumers soon.
