If you are looking to book a flat in Bangalore, you will be surprised to know that in order to ensure transparency and ease of booking, Bangalore Development Authority has taken the entire process online. So, from now onwards if you want to buy a flat in Bengaluru, there is no need to visit the office of Bangalore Development Authority. BDA Secretary Vasanthi Amar said, “This is the first time that we are taking the entire process online. From January 1, 2021, people won’t have to visit the BDA office to carry out any transaction.” A person looking to book a flat in Bangalore can now be able to view all available flats, send identity documents, pay the initial amount online for bookng the flat, the final payment and submission and collection of documents will be done quickly now.

“Almost 99% of the work in connection with our online process is now completed. It is likely to be in place by December 15 itself, and will officially be made online on January 1. A new official website www.bdahousing.org is created only for this purpose, and will be linked with BDA's official website.” said Public Relations Officer L P Gireesha . 

BDA has made the auctioning of its sites completely online, but for flats was not done uptill now. An ‘Across the Table’ scheme to sell its flats, started on August 11, 2017 did not take off in a big way as planned and expected, with 1,745 out of 3,225 flats still unsold, as BDA stats in September.


Much of the flats in three phases of Kanminike, two phases each in Komaghatta and Doddabanahalli, are yet to be sold, as one thing that has hindered its sale being their distance from the city. Payment for booking a flat in Bangalore can be done only through RTGS and NEFT, after the online process starts but after a year or so, other online wallets would be permitted. As the entire process of booking flats in Bangalore is online, there will be lesser or no trips to BDA and banks as required from time to time.

Currently people visit the flat allotment section and get details regarding vacant flats but from now onwards if someone decides to surrender a flat after making the initial payment, it would be displayed on the official website www.bdahousing.org immediately. Happy booking!
