First Information Report or FIR is a written document prepared by the police in India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh. FIR is prepared when the police receive information about a cognizable offence. Simply, FIR is a complaint lodged with the police by the victim of a cognizable offence or by someone on his or her behalf, though anyone can report it either orally or in writing to the police. People can also file an FIR through online medium.

Visit the Delhi Police Official Website i.e. www.delhipolice.nic.in
Click on 'Citizen Services' option.


Choose the option 'Complaint Lodging' if you want to file a police complaint online. This is the first option given. You can also file an FIR for Motor Vehicle Theft or file an FIR for any burgulary or theft. These are the second and third options respectively.

After clicking on any of the links mentioned on the page, you first need to create an account with Delhi Police. For that you need to tell your Name, Father's/Mother's name, Mobile Number, Email, Address etc.
File an FIR or complaint online with Delhi Police.
After filling all the details, you need to submit your FIR or complaint.
You will receive a copy of your e-FIR in your email id in pdf format.
You can download it and take a print out of the FIR report.

How to file an online FIR: Lost and found


Visit the official website of Delhi Police - www.delhipolice.nic.in

From Citizen Services tab, Click on ‘Lost & Found’ option.



Click on Register link mentioned under the ‘Lost Article Report,’ there will be four option namely, Retrieve, Register, Search found articles and FAQ. Select the second option ‘Register’.
Fill the following details in the registration form:
    Complainant’s Name
    Father’s/Mother’s Name
    Complainant’s Address
    Complainant’s Mobile number
    Complainant’s email ID
    Place of Loss in Delhi
    Date of Loss
    Time of Loss
    Lost Articles
    Description of the Article
    Any Other Details



Enter captcha code given at the last.
Click on ‘Submit’ button.
A copy of the e-report will be sent to your email address.
You can take a print out for future use.

UP Police Online FIR


How to to file FIR online UP Police (Uttar Pradesh)

You need to first create your login details at the UP Police website. For this Click on the link - "Create citizen login" at the right of the screen



A pop up window opens where you need to enter your Name, Gender, Email ID, Mobile Number and Password. Then click on Submit.

An OTP will be sent to your mobile number and email id after that you need to verify your mobile number/email id after that you will be registered as a user.
Then Login with your Username/Mobile Number and Password.
Register your e fir with UP Police
You will receive a copy of UP Police FIR in your email id.

How to report Lost Article in UP/UP Police lost article report online


Visit the official website of UP Police here
If you are an existing user, choose the first option on the screen.
If you are a new user, click on the second option.


If you click on New User, new screen opens where you need to enter your Username, Mobile Number and Email Id and click on Register.


Enter personal details like Complainants name, Son of / Wife of Daughter of Name, Complete Address, Mobile No and E-mail ID
Click on next.
Enter the details of Place of occurrence which means where you have stolen or lost the document or article. Enter the Place of occurrence, District, Police Station from Drop down menu, From Date, From Time, To date, To Time and brief facts. Click Next.
Enter Lost Articles details. 
Select the name of article from the drop down list. If the name of article is not mentioned in the list, then select others and enter Other Details of the lost article. Enter article description. If you lost more than one article Hit on add more article.If you have lost Election ID Card or Pan Card, choose that from the list and enter its Unique ID number mentioned on the lost document.
Click on Submit Button. 
An OTP (One Time Password) will be sent to your registered mobile number and e-mail address. 
Enter OTP received on your mobile on the screen that opens and click on confirm to verify the OTP. 
Lost report confirmation screen opens where it says your report has been successfully registered with the UP Police.
A copy of the FIR will send to your registered Email Address.
You can take a printout of the Lost Article Report for your use.

Haryana Police Online FIR


How to register for online FIR in Haryana Police


These are the steps you need to take to file Online FIR Haryana:


Visit the official website - https://haryanapoliceonline.gov.in/
Under Citizen Login at the right bottom of the screen, click on the link "Create Citizen Login".
On the page that opens, you need to enter your personal details like Name, Gender, Date of Birth, Mobile Number, Email, your address details.
Choose Security Question and Login Id and Password as the login details.
Click Submit and then Login with your credentials.
After that you will be able to register FIR online in Haryana Police.
You can also register a complaint in Haryana Police after logging in.You can register a complaint for missing persons, stolen vehicles, theft and loss of property etc.

How to register an FIR with Bengaluru Police or lodge a lost article report ?

Click on Lodge Lost Report
Enter complainant’s details like name, address, mobile, etc.
Input details of place of loss, time, district, police station, etc.
Input details of lost article(s).
On successful registration a unique Lost Report number will be allotted to your report.
You can download the report and take a printout of the same for your use.

You can register a police report or do register an FIR with Bengaluru City Police about a lost document  like Passport Driving Licence, Registration certificate of vehicle , Educational Certificates, PAN Card etc.  New users have to enter name, mobile no. and email-id. A one-time password (OTP) code will be sent on the mobile number and email. The OTP has to be provided before submitting information for registration.
