E-commerce sites, deliver general books free of cost, put steep delivery charges on NCERT books. Delivery of NCERT books can be tracked and various online payment facilities to buy NCERT books would be made available soon. Orders for NCERT books can first be made and the payment can be made later. Delivery of NCERT books through authorised vendors or collect it from authorised centres would also be made available.

Increasing demand of NCERT books

An HRD official said, "We are hoping that all schools where NCERT books are required would give us the estimate of the number of books that are required for next year so that they are available much before time''. At least a month's time would be given to schools to upload their requirement.

NCERT publishes 364 textbook titles in Hindi, English and Urdu every year. It prints books are delivered through 680 authorised vendors across India. Officials said they are increasing the number of vendors and printers too. Around 42.5 million books are used by CBSE affiliated schools, including Kendriya Vidyalayas, and the number could go up to 130 million so there is a huge demand of NCERT books online.

The NCERT portal will not only help to make parents and students buy ncert books online payment in whole of India but will also tell NCERT the total number of books it needs to publish.
