Hundreds of applicants throng at DDA's Lok Shivir, where a five-day camp has been organised to expedite the process of leasehold to freehold conversion. There was seen many people came who came out in the camp with conversion deeds in their hands. Although some of them complained of insufficient assistance provided by DDA officials at the camp. 378 applicants were issued conversion deeds on the spot. out of the 500 applicants who turned up at the DDA camp/Shivir on Monday, according to DDA officials. There were many people who were had come for different work and did not get the conversion deeds, but they were asking information about the process
The conversion of flats from dda lease-hold to free-hold was, according to the new vice-chairperson of the Authority, Balvinder Kumar, his top priority. Several of those who came to the camp said they had applied for their conversion certificates months and even years ago but hadn't heard from DDA since. The DDA vice- chairperson blamed the unconsolidated records for the delays in the process.
As many are aware that DDA Housing Scheme 2014/DDA Housing Scheme is soon to be launched by DDA in Feburary 2014. This DDA camp for conversion of property from leasehold to freehold organized at DDA's headquarters will go on till February 21. Various areas of the capital have been designated different dates. Monday was the day dedicated to issuing certificates for residents of Dwarka. On Tuesday, DDA will take up applications for east and south Delhi, north Delhi and Narela zones will be taken up on Wednesday, and the final day will be reserved for the remaining zones including west and central Delhi. According to authority records, there are about 3,500 applications pending with the Authority.
