How is allotment of DDA flats conducted?
DDA caters to all sections of society by constructions all categories of residential flats. The Higher Income Group, Middle Income Group, Lower Income Group, and Janta flats are constructed for the various categories. After completion of the project, the flats are opened for allotment to the applicants. These applicants are generally already registered under the various Housing Registration Schemes of DDA, under either of two categories: Lower Income Group and Janta. But for the higher categories such as Higher Income Group and Middle Income Group category the allotment process is a bit different. After the flats are opened to public, applications are invited from prospective buyers through a public notices, advertisements, and other approaches that appear online or in newspapers all over the country. Registration is invited by paying some amount of registration money. The brochures can be procured at prices decided by DDA. These brochures contain the terms and conditions and the eligibility criteria of the applicants. The brochures can be availed for purchase through DDA sale counter at Vikas Sadan, INA and through the designated banks. Finally, allotment of the flats occurs through a computerized draw after a thorough check of all the applications on the basis of the eligibility criteria and the terms and conditions already specified.
A DDA flat as per your choice or locality and floor
Applicants are free to choose the locality in which they would prefer as per the new scheme. But choosing of floor or allotment in a particular sector or pocket of the society is not yet available. This choice is purely based on luck because it happens through a computerized draw open to public.
No provision on certain choices
It is not possible to get allotment of flat exchanged with any other allottee even if he/she agrees and is willing to under the present provision. There is also no provision available for Hire Purchase (instalments) or Cash Down mode of payment. But if a flat is allotted on hire purchase then on the request of the allottee, the mode of payment can be changed to cash down basis.
